The Sunnseitn Apartment
I know the Weilbach family personally, and I stayed in the apartment myself. These photos are my own. What I love about the Sunnseitn: this isn't some faceless agency handing you keys. It's a young family that clearly puts real care into what they do. The host is genuinely warm, and you feel that same warmth the moment you walk into the apartment.
It sits on the sunny side of Bayrischzell, was built new in 2021, and offers 800 square feet (75 m²) of space for two to four people. Modern, alpine, thoughtfully laid out, and with a big garden that's worth its weight in gold, especially for families with kids. From here you can walk to just about everything in no time.

The Apartment
Modern, alpine, and genuinely made for families
The Sunnseitn isn't a luxury chalet, and it doesn't try to be. What it is: a well-thought-out, modern vacation apartment in alpine style where everything just works. A big double bed in the bedroom, a separate kids' room with a handmade adventure bunk bed that wins the little ones over instantly. A modern bathroom with a rain shower, and a fully equipped kitchen with an induction cooktop, oven, and dishwasher.
The living room has a handmade sectional couch and a 65-inch TV for those evenings when all you want after a long hike is to sink into the sofa. On top of that: free Wi-Fi, a washing machine, parking right at the house, and a big garden with a terrace and lounge chairs. The kids treat it as a playground and the parents as a quiet spot to unwind.
Location & What Makes It Special
Sunny side, short distances, hands-on hosts
The name says it all: the apartment sits on the sunny side of Bayrischzell. In about eight minutes on foot you're in the village center with its cafés, inns, and shops. Head the other direction and it's about the same walk to the ski lift. The cross-country ski trail and the trailhead of the Wendelstein-Männlein-Weg, one of the region's most popular family hiking trails, are close by too.
But what truly sets the Sunnseitn apart are the hosts. The Weilbach family looks after their guests personally, answers every inquiry individually, and even offers a pickup service from the train station. Anyone arriving without a car will appreciate that. And anyone showing up with kids notices right away: a young family thought this through for other young families.
