Hotel with a Spa in Bayrischzell

Hotel Alpenrose

If you're looking for a real hotel in Bayrischzell, not just a room but a restaurant, beer garden, bar, and spa all under one roof, you'll almost inevitably end up at the Alpenrose. The place sits right in the center of the village next to the train station and has been a fixture here for years. Lovingly furnished, classic in the best sense, and with a dining scene that's worth a visit even if you're not staying the night. Fans of the show Frühling will also recognize it as Hotel Leutmeier from the ZDF series.

Right now the Alpenrose is expanding in a big way. New rooms, additional seminar spaces, and an underground parking garage are all under construction. The hotel is growing, and yet it stays exactly what it always was: an honest country hotel with real character.

Rooms & Spa

From Single Rooms to Suites

The Alpenrose currently offers 31 rooms across a range of categories: singles, standard and superior doubles, multi-bed and family rooms, plus the spacious Wendelstein room at 30 m² (about 320 sq ft) with a mountain view. The rooms are bright, warmly furnished, and solidly equipped. This isn't a design hotel, but it's no cookie-cutter room either. Prices start at around 159 € per night for two.

Free for hotel guests: the two-level wellness and spa area spanning 180 m² (roughly 1,940 sq ft), with a sauna, steam bath, sensory shower, massages, and ten loungers. A door on the upper level opens onto the sun terrace with a view of the mountains, exactly what you want after a day outdoors.

Restaurant & Location

More Than Just a Hotel Breakfast

Here's what sets the Alpenrose apart from a lot of country hotels: the restaurant stands on its own and is open every day, straight through from noon to 9 p.m., including for guests who aren't staying at the hotel. The menu pairs Bavarian tavern classics with a solid selection of vegan dishes. Add to that a beer garden under shady trees and a sun terrace that really comes into its own as a spot for sundowners in the evening. The little bar is open until 10 p.m., and later if there's a crowd.

Being right next to the train station makes the Alpenrose a great pick for guests arriving without a car. Hiking trails start practically at the front door, and the Sudelfeld ski area and cross-country trails are just a short hop away. Dogs are genuinely welcome, in the hotel and in the restaurant alike.

Room listings, availability, and online booking are all handled directly by the hotel, no middlemen, no markup.
